Anchor Hocking

Anchor Hocking was formed in 1905, sold approximately 20000 worth of depression glass in the first year. In the Great Depression, it was saved by a revolutionary machine that automatically pressed glass; entered the business of glass jars in 1931.
Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation was founded on December 31, 1937, when the anchor and Cap Closure Corporation and its subsidiaries merged with the Hocking Glass Company, expanding its production pra other sectors. Over the years, many changes occurred in the company, as the fire of Phoenix Glass Company in 1978 and its acquisition by Newell Corporation in 1987.
